My goal is to write meaningful, influential music just like the American writers of the past century, while still pressing forward with a modern approach. I am constantly inspired by music from all sorts of genres like jazz, tejano, and classical music. My personal favorite, American Jazz Standards, are some of the greatest gifts ever given to the Musical Arts, and I intend to keep the standards and music of yesterday alive today.
From combinations such as Harry Connick Jr. meets Silk Sonic with a touch of Amy Winehouse and Al Hurricane, music has always been an interesting phenomenon. I intend to write with purpose and respect for all genres, from chamber music to world music.
Excited to share the release of my original “Caged Rage” recorded by the One O'Clock Lab Band featuring Jonathan Arcangel and Wes Case.
This work explores the emotional arc of suppressed anger, beginning with the subtle throb of a headache and evolving into something more intense, sinister, and ultimately explosive.
This piece also explores genres and styles outside of jazz, specifically one of my favorite bands of all time, Incubus
Thank you to the One O'Clock Lab Band and Alan Baylock for all of their support and hard work. ♥️
A big thank you to Mark Ellington for all of your hard work on the art. 🎨🖌️
